Open Tracking - About
Open Tracking was set up by Rob Marriott and James Thurlow in 2010, it came about when we struggled to find a supplier of trackers for the events we were running in the UK. We eventually concluded that we are going to have to do this ourselves. Since that time the services we've developed have been used by other event organisers (both in the UK and internationally), for DofE and school groups as well as individuals taking on big challenges, like the Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride.
Too many years looking at maps and a background in software development has led me to online tracking solutions. When not at a desk, I enjoy travel, walking, running and generally being outdoors.
I run Open Adventure, an Adventure Sports company. Bit of a closet geek and do like to see kit working well in the challenging environment of the Outdoors. In my spare time I like to get out running and cycling - usually carrying a tracker so the family knows when I'm heading home.
We work with James Kirby for graphics on all of our projects, if you have a bespoke requirement we will work with James to come up with a solution that will fit neatly within any existing website you have. www.jameskirby.me.uk
Ant is an Adventure Racer, endurance runner and web geek who runs outsrc.co.uk Anthonys company works with us on the server hosting and listening services that facilitate the presentation of the tracking data. Importantly if Rob is not around and it's a techy question Ant is the one who will help out.
